Spirit Animal: Turtle?

The turtle totem wisdom teaches us about walking our path in peace and sticking to it with determination and serenity. Slow moving on earth, yet also incredibly fast and agile in water, those who have the turtle as totem or spirit animal may be encouraged to take a break in their busy lives and look around or within themselves for more grounded, long-lasting solutions. Traditionally, the turtle is symbolic of the way of peace, whether it’s inviting us to cultivate peace of mind or a peaceful relationship with our environment.

Turtle?
Really??
I don't have much peace if I really think about and am always living in a constant state of chaos...

Still don't want to be a turtle.

DecemberLAND is BACK!!

Woo Hoo - af,_ter a 2 year hiatus of not being me and being sociable I am back baby!  Reason for the hiatus? I had to put my head to the grindstone, buckle down and make some big changes in my life to get me back to at least OK, not even good, but just OK.

You should of gotten this <- little diddy in your email with all the big accomplishments I made in this past year. If you didn't by all means it is on file and can easily be sent over upon request.

Here's to keeping things on the upward and having me back to being me.

Later gators,
December

Cember Celebration has started

Cember Celebrations has officially kicked off - this was my post on FB

And let the 31 days of Cember Celebration begin...what is Cember Celebration you may ask? Well girls & boys that is where for the next 31 days everybody says my name over and over, I see it in print, everybody is talking about it, the list goes on. It gives a whole new meaning to the song "Say My Name" by Destiny's Child.

Above & beyond that the month of December is my ever so sweet revenge on every enemy & most deliciously, every Ex I ever dated as those individuals are required to say my name over & over & over again all month and maybe not the 1st, 10th or hell even the 50th time, but at some point in the month as they say "December" I, yes I am going to enter their head (insert evil LOL because we get to do this every single year)

Oh wait there is more, but I will leave that for Monday...Just start thinking on how exactly you will celebrate your Cember. I have to say I think I have really grown into my name LOL

Photo
Betty R sent me this.
Judy E sent me a pic that keeps disappearing so I can't post it, but she gets total credit for it.
Photo: Happy December! ❄️
Gina G. sent me this..
Now that is some Cember Celebrating - Love It!

I do need to make a correction...Cember Celebration is only 30 days! No need to get out the calendars or take off socks for counting purposes. Ya see I have the privilege of having the most awesome friend named Anna. Now she was born on December 31st. So being the friend that I am, Cember Celebration only lasts for 30 days because on the 31st we celebrate HER!

December turned 40 yrs old

To be quite honest every time somebody asked me how or what I wanted to do to celebrate the big “4-0” my mind went blank so I spent the day with my awesome friend Anna & this is how it went…
image

       We started with pedicures!
I went with a peacock theme

(duh - what else would I do?)
(Little did I know, sparkly & pretty toes would distract me the rest of the day…)
-------------------------------------------------

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Then it was lunch! I chose....
image

Where I partook of the Mushroom Brie Flatbread…it had 2 of my favorite ingredients BRIE (my favorite cheese of ALL cheeses) & balsamic vinegar!
clip_image003[4]
clip_image005      Anna  enjoyed
          her lunch
     choice as well!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------image
Came home to find that my cutie pa-tootie of a 4 yr. old nephew had left  me a balloon tied to my door with a card – made me all mushy….
Then it was time for a break…for a few hours
Back to the celebrating….We ran to DQ where I elected to have the Triple Berry Brown Blizzard in lieu of Ice Cream Cake…NEVER divert from your favorite on your birthday!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Then after eyeing the Daily’s Cocktails for 3+ yrs. I decided being 40 was a big enough occasion for me to have a drink (of which I don’t do) so we went to the liquor store…

My Birthday Candle
(according to Anna)
          Drink #1
Time to drink: 2 hrs
      Drink #2
   Time to drink: ½ hr

We sat around my birthday candle & basically adult capri sun pouches minus the straw (bastards) Little did we know pkg directions say for them to be slushy you have to freeze them for 8 hrs. I didn’t have 8 hrs. to wait. Yep, the alcohol hit me with giggles, wrong word choices, etc.

I stayed the night at Anna’s & somehow my non-animal person, allowed my dog-child Stella to sleep on the couch with me. Anna said when she came out the next morning Stella was standing on top of me looking over the back of the couch like “Look mom, I got her covered, she isn't going anywhere” LOL

After finally rising somewhere in the 11 o'clock hour - I found the loveliest video on my phone which included a musically serenade. Which for as hellashish as I felt (oh and believe me I did & then some) it made me feel special & made me smile every time I played or thought of it.

Thank you to each & every one of you for the birthday wishes (a week later they are still trickling in) I am well into the double digits & fast approaching the triples.

Weekly Recap June 17-23

Monday Hung the clothes out to dry on the line.  Now I am experienced person at this sort of thing, but necessity calls because the dryer at the new place doesn't work for reasons unknown (next project to fix after the faucet), but the washer does. So being the resourceful person I am, I attempted this clothes line thing outside. Overall no, no, no! I do not like crunchy clothes! They come off the line stiff as a board and no where near the soft pliable thing you see on the tv. Ick, Eww. Not my cup of tea by far.
Tuesday
  • Went for a lovely walk (outside) with my friend Racquel & Baby O.  Baby O. got to bounce on the trampoline for the very 1st time ever!
  • Had a great call with my friend Christine!
Wednesday The kitchen faucet is fixed!  Woo Hoo - big special thanks and shout out to the neighbor 2 houses down Jay Maldi for taking time out of his day and coming down to fix this for me.  Let there be water again!

WP_000831WP_000830Libby came for a visit.  We had a blast as usual.  After taking care of business we went outside so she could bounce on the trampoline.  At one point she stopped to ask what was by my foot.  After poking it from different directions.  I casually stood up and announced my final conclusion which was that her father's penis crop had finally come in...only somebody such as her father could have mushrooms randomly grow in his yard that look like a penis.

Thursday Shelly came to town with Brandon.  We went Menards.  Had a rousing game of "Where is Brandon"
Amazing how hard it was for Auntie December to not be able to find him under the cart.

Friday

Summer Solstice!
- Smudged myself, cleaned all my stones, sun charged them, ended the day with a bonfire at the Maldi household.  Left a treat for the fairy folk.

- Had a visit from Cousin Tabby!  Her and I have to much fun together.  Gave her, her very own life size minion!  She put it in the back of her jeep & it is looking out the back window.

Saturday Down day

My friend Geno celebrated another birthday.  I met as a teenager when Geno was a roadie for Slave Raider!  I have been wishing him a happy birthday for more of my life than I didn't know him and I like it that way.
Sunday Hello Sunday - getting caught up on a lot of stuff and rounding out my week.

Libby leaves for Encampment for 7 days and will not have access to any forms of communication.  She will be playing solider so she can level up in C.A.P. (Civil Air Patrol) My advice to her: Remember to take your meds, deodorant and a bra, see you when you get back.  LOL
Hightlights for Next Week
  • Big Brother starts back up - hopefully I will be able to watch it on the internet since I have no TV right now.
  • Timeshare Payton turns 10 yrs old!
  • Jetz, Jenny F will be celebrating birthdays
  • Last week of the month

Week in Review Jan 28-Feb 3

  • Watched some movies (I am way behind now that my Cousin Tabby moved)
    • Ted: There was more to it than I thought there was going to be
    • Hotel Transylvania: A bit disappointed at how boring it was, then I figured out the actor behind the voice and just got more bored.
  • Turkey's look really weird when they run at you - learned this by feeding the ones in the sanctuary.
  • Had a great meeting with the minion!
  • Friday I finally - wait strike that.  I can't say what happened because then you all will expect  the same thing and we just can't have that.
  • So fricking happy that the Super Bowl is over with...
  • Last week I decided to throw out a question of the day on Facebook...it always amazes me which questions take off & which don't.  This was one that took off...
    • What do you like to dip your fries in (seemed innocent enough)
    • I got a lot of responses & I mean A LOT...Voting went as follows
      • Top
        • Ketchup
        • BBQ Sauce
        • Mayo
        • Mayo & Ketchup mixed together
        • Ranch dip
      • Middle
        • In & Out Secret Sauce a.k.a. Thousand Island dressing
        • Chocolate Shake
      • Bottom but reasonable still edible
        • Garlic Mayo
        • Nacho Cheese
        • Heinz 57
        • A1
        • Sweet & Sour Sauce
        • Dijon Mustard (hmm bit borderline for being edible)
        • Buffalo Wing Sauce
        • Gravy
      • Unique choices & the WTH choices
        • Top the Tater
          • West Coast people don't have this so won't know what it is - it is chives & onion mixed in sour cream
          • In my world this only belongs on my baked tater NOT my fries.
        • Cottage Cheese straight out of the carton with salt & pepper...
          • In-ter-est-ing...wonder how this person came up with that one? It was the only thing/condiment in the fridge?
        • Blood
          • I don't care how "manly-man" you are, just because it is red - it does NOT replace ketchup!

Payton Tales...

Nicole Williams (Payton's Mommy) sent me this tale today:  Your timeshare child (Payton) in Big Lots had a dry face, so I suggested she get a dab of lotion from the lotion aisle...why did she look like she was shaving when I turned around?!!!! I was mad for 1/100th of a second, then had to laugh until I cried! she is SO RELATED to her father, and there is nothing I can do about it!!! lol OMG!

That is so my Pay-Pay.  I told Grammie Deb and she just shook her head.

I have the best friends!

Woke up this morning...lazed over to the computer & the 1st thing I saw on Facebook was the following from my dear, sweet Xanthe:

PLEASE put this on your status if you know someone or are related to someone who has been eaten by dragons. Dragons are nearly unstoppable, and in case you didn't know, they can breathe fire. 93% of people won't copy and paste this, because they have already been eaten by dragons. 6% of people are sitting in the shower, armed with fire extinguishers. The remaining 1% are awesome, and will re-post this. and for the love of gawd don't forget the hearts ♥ ♥ ♥ Yes, December L. Mackedanz, my Uncle Ferdinand was eaten by dragons because he forgot his fire extinguisher when he was sitting in the shower. BOO HOO

I truly do have some of the BEST  people in my world and I am so proud to call them MY friends.

What happened in my world this week (Jan 21-27)

  • My mom made and (key point) SURVIVED her 3 day trip to Florida for work.
  • Had some L.A. envy because it is NAMM week & of course I didn't get to go (again)
  • Medicine issues which have put me in a rage for several days and the issue is not resolved any further than when I started.  I called my pharmacy in Pennsylvania to reorder my steroids (used to treat the nose)  Well at some point between when I last ordered meds and now, they decided to change their policy and not bill insurance anymore, they wanted the full amount up front and then I could check with my insurance to see if they would reimburse me.  Excuse me what? Needless to say my arms shortened & my inner T-Rex came out & the rest of a the call was a simple blood bath.  No notification of policy change, no letter, no nothing. This lead to a hell of a goose chase that included me wanting to smack the little old lady in Member Services at my insurance company, a rousing talk with some guy at an apothecary in Northern MN that kept me on the phone for 45 min (must of been the 1st & only person to talk to him that day) and a Dr's office that wants to play phone tag because they don't answer the phone.   15 calls in 48 hrs & not a step further than I was when I called for a refill.
What am I looking forward to this week...
  • My baby brother has a birthday
  • Job Interview
  • Bi-Weekly meeting with the fabulous niece
  • Celebrating December Latham's birthday
  • Groundhog Day - we better not have 6 more weeks of winter darn it.

Neurologist Results are in

Recap: In December I had an MRI & chest x-ray session...was suppose to have the EMG but the machine broke with the person before me (see the post from 1/8/2013 on why I could understand if the person before me broke the machine out of rage and/or retribution) 1/8/2013 Went in & had the dreaded EMG test ( for details click here) After all testing was done & said I walked to the counter & asked for an appointment with the Dr. for the results.  The soonest I was told I could see him was APRIL 4th!  Really? What is the point then & of course you all knew I didn't take that lightly per say...so I actually got in on Thursday, 1/18 (amazing how that works when you tell leave a message for the Dr.)

The Results

Good news: I do not have thoratic outlet syndrome!  The cervical rib is not causing restriction to my neck or impacting my spinal cord.

Bad news: I am having a few getting older issues present before I really should...
  • Wrist (just the right arm was tested) Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (no action to be taken at this time)
  • Neck
    • Arthritis (not a whole lot we can do at this point about it)
    • Degenerating disks/vertebrae
    • Bulging C5 & C6 (because my bones were malformed causing above average movement, reduced nerve outlets and reduced spinal cord area, when the vertebrae do move they are more likely to make contact causing issues with my nerves & spinal cord.)
But what does it all mean December?
  • No surgery or new meds to take
  • Continue to see the chiropractor when things are out of place or poking your brain
  • If anything gets worse document and come back in other stay the course and proceed on...

woo hoo christmas is officially over for me! On the way home from the last one from 2012.

EMG | Dr. Visit

So I went back for my rescheduled EMG test...(Originally was suppose to do it on 12/11, but the  machine broke with the person before me & this was the soonest they could get me back in)  Between the MRI & Xray session from the 12/11, plus this EMG we are doing all non-evasive testing to see if the cervical rib is causing neurological & spinal cord damage to where they exit the skull.  This EMG test was done only to my right arm which is the side the cervical rib is on.

Now I am not sure if any of you have ever had an EMG, but for those of you who haven't let me just say that with all of my medical issues I have been poked & prodded to no end & this is one hell of a test that I will never in this life time voluntarily ever do again (yes it was that damn bad!)

Technically what is an EMG you may be asking yourself...An electromyogram (EMG) measures the electrical activity of muscles at rest and during contraction. Nerve conduction studies measure how well and how fast the nerves can send electrical signals.

Now here is what happened: The lady tech hooks me up to the machine & I am sure she explained to me what was going to happen, but no amount of words she gave prepared me for that 1st shot of electricity.  If I could of jumped off the table & struck a half ninja / half traumatized kid cowering in the corner I would of but alas I yelled & may have said a few expletives!  For the next 10 minutes the lady tech would choose a spot & would shock me 3 times per spot, each time getting progressively higher in electricity, each time also getting more expletives out of me.  By the time she was done with that I had tears in my eyes.

Little did I know that wasn't the end of this test session...next we moved on to the needle part.  I thought 1 poke, maybe a question of, "Can you feel this?"  Oh hell no, I was poked about 10 times on just the right arm.  Now the poking is what it is, but each time she poked me she wiggled the damn needle in my arm so she could "hear" my muscles.  Felt very much like a tingly piece of Swiss Cheese, with tears in my eyes and a very bad mood when I walked out of there.

Needless to say the next available date the neurologist is April 3, 2013...I am not waiting that long for these results.  So I will be contacting his office directly to see what we can do to move this up.  Of course I will keep everybody up to date.

  • About 1 in 200 people are born with an extra rib called a cervical rib.
  • About 1 in 10 people who have a cervical rib develop thoracic outlet syndrome (this is what we are testing me for
  • Cervical and anomalous first ribs are rare conditions, occurring in less than 1% of the population.
  • thoracic outlet

New Years Eve

December 31st ends the 31 days of Cember Celebration, but in addition to that it is also the birthday one of the most fabulous friend I have...Anna!  This year was a big one because she turned the big 4-0!

We started the evening with dinner at Squeaky's.  They were very accommodating and made my dinner, my way (I always like when I get my way)

Random celebrating and socializing with Red & Mikey Bergs, Kay Johnson (we had such a lovely conversation) Xanthe & Steve, etc, etc, etc.
Cake time turned into a lovely experiment because the "dirt" that was around her coffin cake turned everybody's teeth BLACK!  We are not talking just, "Hey I think you have something on your teeth" black, but zombie, you might be dead black teeth.  To the left you will see a distinct black deadly look I was left with.  You will also see Katie trying to cover her teeth and/or scrub them clean with her napkin.  Good times I tell ya.

We then rounded out the evening with the musical sounds of Andy.  Mikey and I had some special sing along moments that were great!   Andy does a great Neil Diamond and an even better Neil Diamond if done with the assistance of helium.

I would totally suggest Andy again!

My champagne
My noise maker

I welcomed in  2013!

New Year's Kiss: Kirstin B. gave me a kiss (after she kissed her husband) because I was the only single person there!  Thanks K.B.

I have no New Year's resolutions for the year, but I do plan on making progress in my life for 2013.

Christmas 2012

We all know I hate this holiday, but here is how was my holiday went (Standard conversation piece "How were your holidays?"

1st Celebration was with Anna.  Just us (and Stella of course) I received the most awesome of hand made Halloween sock to post on the mantel (that was if I had one) Needless to say I didn't so my bedroom door it was hung with care.  Because it is made out of Halloween fabrics in 2013 I can hang it for Halloween & keep it up until Christmas is done.

2nd Celebration was with the Anderson Family which included 2 of my Timeshare Children (Madi & Jaxin)  I bought Jaxin his own private hot cocoa maker that heats & stirs.  I got notes from his mom on Facebook for 3 days afterwards that the cocoa maker was being put to use again.

Christmas Eve - Stayed home.  My throat was a bit tingly but no big deal.

Christmas Day woke up sick as hell!  I and everybody else in the house had managed to catch the flu! I ran a temperature for the next 2 days that finally broke on 12/27.  Needless to say Christmas didn't postpone for us.  I unfortunately had to cancel my lunch activities with my cousin Tabby.  The niece came over.  We ate well (but none of us could taste anything) Opened presents.  The little one was so excited and gave the reaction that I was hoping for because I spent my last $20 cash on set of satin sheets for her (Timeshare moment) We then watched Ice Age Continental Drift. I then crawled back to bed and fevered on.

I have one Christmas celebration left, but that is not until 1/13/2013...

I did not send out cards this year....just wasn't there.  Well I was hoping to do a Timeshare Family collage with a theme & got most of the other Timeshare parents to help out.  Unfortunately I had one that didn't comply which defeated my whole attempt.  Bummer

I actually was so sick that I didn't even take pictures of others so I have nothing to share even.  Hate being sick :(

So alas I have survived another horrendous holiday season and now starts the countdown to Halloween 2013!

3 Count Them, 3 December's (ah, ha, ha, ha)

Wow, wowsers wow!  I have just discovered another December in the area (and no I am not looking at the calendar either people - this one is living and breathing!)

Friday, I went to go type something on FB & I am used to having my name come up, but then another December showed up in my auto-fill for the very first time.  I was all WTH so I clicked over and sure enough there is another December that lives 23 miles away in Litchfield.  That means there are 3 December's within a 23 mile radius!  Who knew right?

I am still the first as I am 39 yrs old.

Then comes December G.L. whom is 20 yrs old.  She was not named after me.  Her mother named her December because it was different and she loves the month of December. (Uh I didn't get off that easy)

Lastly comes Little December (a.k.a. Ember) whom comes in at a sassy 2 or 3 yrs old. I am thinking she is 3, but haven't verified that.  This little bundle of love, I am the namesake for.  Look at her all dressed up for Thanksgiving last month...can we say precious??

I should maybe start a December Club for us.  Anything more than 2 can be...is...should be consider a Club.

My list for Santa

The list I submitted to family members that didn't know what to get me....

  • Paint brushes - I can always use them...as I am notorious for not cleaning them
  • Evil Items: a lair, minions, any 'inator, squeaky toys for the alligators, etc.

1st Snowfall of 2012

Prior to this we had no snow on the ground.  In one 48 hr period this is how much snow we got.
  • 1 Blizzard warning
  • 13 inches of snow
  • 6 trips outside to dig out my car
  • I just attempted to shovel the driveway for the 2nd time - whew not meant to do that.  Glad Mel got that snow blower this year & I will wait for her to do that (we all know I am not allowed to use power tools)
Is it Spring yet?

Seahorses are NOT freaky & I resent that docu on NATGEO keeps saying they are. Maybe I will ask Santa for one, wait that requires being good...

Timeshare Jaxin

  • He is in 2nd grade this year (and hasn't been to the principal yet and September is almost over with)
  • Jaxin is in flag football.  His team is the Eagles.  He was so excited to tell me his 1st practice didn't go very well because he puked at the end.  I asked why & he offered up it was because his mom made a heavy dinner and that he was guzzling water.  Sure Stacy gets all the blame  (photos to come shortly)
  • His favorite subject is MATH!

Payton Update/News

Ms. Dear Payton is totally such a delight!

She blessed me with contact this past Friday.  She started with texting which lead to a phone call.  That is one 10 year old girl that can talk!  I had to remind her to breathe every now and then.  LOL
Highlights

  • Go-Go bought her a Kindle Fire (which I was read every app & musical artist she has on there)
  • After discussing that one of her American dolls had been given away and that she doesn't really play with dolls anymore she broke it to me that she is going to become a tween.  Now as hard as this was for me to take she was all so serious about this transition.
  • She started school on 8/14 and is in the 4th grade this year at Monlux ES.  There is no 1st day of school photo because Daddy was in charge and to quote her, her hair was crazy and she was a hot mess!
  • She made student council this year!  So awesome, my mom is a bit leary about her being a leader since in kindergarten she rallied all the girls in class to flash the boys their underwear.  Not my timeshare child...no, no!

My horoscope...well ain't this just true LOL

Wednesday, July 11

Wearing your heart on your sleeve has never appealed to you. You'd rather adorn it with a few diamonds and some ribbons and pin it firmly to your hat, where everyone can see it. Someone enjoys your flamboyant style.

Well la-te-dah...if this isn't me with the sparkles & ribbon.
